SORTFLOW HELP

Help

Set up sorting, understand what Sortflow changes, and recover your saved order.

Sort your first collection

  1. Install and open Sortflow. Install through the Shopify App Store, then find Sortflow under Apps in Shopify admin.
  2. Find your collections. Let Sortflow check your store, then select a collection.
  3. Set its sort order to Manually in Shopify. Both manual-membership and automated collections can use manual sorting. Sortflow never changes this setting.
  4. Review the moves. Check every proposed move and the order Sortflow will save.
  5. Turn on sorting. Stock changes trigger sorting. Watch Recent activity for confirmed results or anything that needs attention.

Shopify processing and current activity affect timing. If a result looks wrong, pause the collection and check Recent activity before trying again.

Check the fit for your store

The current plan supports up to 1,000 products across all statuses, including drafts and archived products, and sorting for 25 collections. Collections must use Shopify’s Manually sort order. A shopper’s selected sort can override the default collection order.

Inventory and variants

A supported product remains available when at least one variant can be sold through the online channel. Continue-selling and untracked-inventory settings are respected when Shopify marks the variant available. Availability is not a guarantee of checkout eligibility in every market.

Sortflow names products it cannot sort because they are unpublished, subscription-only, or use unsupported bundle data. It will not guess when availability cannot be established.

What stays the same

Products stay published and no theme code is installed. Sortflow currently does not hide products or variants, create redirects, tag inventory, send customer stock-alert emails, or rank by price or sales.

Control how each collection sorts

Open the More actions (•••) menu for a collection and choose Edit rules. Saving rules pauses sorting. Products stay where they are until you review the new order and turn sorting on again.

Keep selected products in place

Choose products in Shopify’s product picker, or type and paste exact product tags separated by commas or line breaks. Each tag appears as a removable pill, and matching is not case-sensitive. Matching products keep their current positions while the others sort around them. This keeps an item in its existing slot; it does not move it to the top.

Stock level and wait time

Zero moves sold-out products. A higher number moves products whose total available online stock is at or below that number. Products that do not track stock, or keep selling when out of stock, stay available. An optional wait begins when Sortflow first sees stock at or below your number and resets after a restock.

Schedules

Sort after stock changes, hourly, or daily using a named time zone and current UTC offset. Hourly sorting starts at the next local hour; daily sorting uses your chosen local time. Sortflow double-checks about every 15 minutes, so scheduled times are approximate. Turning on a reviewed change applies it now and schedules future checks.

Work with several collections

Select collections, then choose Review selected. Inspect each collection’s proposed moves before turning on sorting. Each collection is handled separately, so one failure does not undo successful changes in another. Pause selected stops future sorting; a change Shopify already accepted can still finish.

Failure and order-change alerts

When email delivery is available, enter your address, opt in, and follow the verification link. Alerts begin after verification. Repeated notices for the same issue are limited to one every 30 minutes, and queued alerts are skipped after the issue recovers. Turn them off in the app or through the email’s unsubscribe link. These are merchant operational alerts, not customer restock messages.

Pause, choose an order, or restore

Choose which order to keep

If someone changes a collection’s order in Shopify, select Choose order. You can Keep Shopify’s current order as the new saved order or Put back my saved order. Then review the moves again before turning on sorting.

Pause sorting

Pause stops future sorting. A change Shopify has already accepted may still finish. Check Recent activity before making another change.

Undo or restore

Undo reverses the latest change only if no one has changed the order since. Restore puts current collection products back into your saved order. New products are added to the end. Undo and restore do not apply stock rules or schedules. Review every move before applying either action.

Before uninstalling

Restore your saved order first if you want it back. Shopify may revoke app access immediately when you uninstall, so Sortflow may be unable to restore afterward.

Pricing and billing

Sortflow is $5.99 USD per month with a 7-day free trial. The plan supports up to 1,000 products across all statuses, including drafts and archived products, and sorting for 25 collections.

Billing starts only after you approve the plan in Shopify. Shopify’s approval screen is authoritative for the price and trial terms, and you can manage or cancel your subscription there. Development stores are not charged.
